교수․학습 지원 환경 변인이 중학교 수업에 미치는 영향과 문제점 탐색

이 연구는 중학교의 수업에 작용하는 여러 가지 변인들 중 교수․학습 지원 환경 변인에 해당하는 변인들이 수업에 미치는 영향과 그에 따른 문제점, 그리고 이를 개선할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 탐색한 것이다. 이 연구를 위해 중학교 2학년의 수업을 관찰하고 수업한 교사들과 학급 담임, 교장, 교감과 면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 수업에 긍정적 혹은 부정적으로 영향을 미치고 있는 교수․ 학습 지원 환경 변인으로는 소규모로 분산․배치된 ‘교원연구실’, ‘편안하고 연구하는’ 학교 분위기, 행정가의 학교 운영 방향, 학부모의 학교 참여, 지역사회 자원의 활용, 업무 중심의 교원승진체계, 수업지원 교사의 활용, 영어교과실 운영, 과다한 교사의 업무, 통합학교 제도 등이 발견되었다. 여기서 알 수 있는 문제점으로는 학교 운영 방향이 행정가 개인에 의해 좌우되고, 과도한 행정업무가 수업연구 시간을 줄이고, 교직을 ‘안주하는 분위기’가 지배하고 있고, 승진을 위해 수업을 소홀히 하게되고, ‘효과’보다 ‘효율’을 우선시 하는 통합학교 제도 등을 들 수 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 교육주체들의 적극적 참여를 통한 학교 운영과 학교 업무의 분담과 축소, 교사들의 공동연구와 지원 체계의 활성화, 이 성과와 연계되는 새로운 승진체계의 도입, 교육재정의 확보와 지원 등을 제안하였다.

This study is about the influences of the supportive and environmental variables of teaching and learning on the instructions in the middle school. In this study, the actual teaching and learning situations in the second year of the middle schools are observed and people involved in such a context are interviewed. The results are as follows.

What influence on teaching and learning are a small decentralized “teachers' room”, the principals' directions of school management, parents' participations for school management, utilizing community resources for instructions, promotion systems for teachers, employment system of laboratory assistance teacher and English native teachers, and teachers' heavy work load. These variables influence positively or negatively on the instructions.

From these, many educational problems are discovered. Firstly, the directions of school management depend on school administrators. Secondly, teachers don't have much time to prepare their instructions because of their heavy administrative load. Thirdly, a few teachers pay no attention to instructions because of teachers' promotion system. Fourthly, consideration is given to “efficiencies” than “effects” in school integrating systems. So, in order to reform these problems, it is needed five reform methods. Firstly, schools should be managed through active participation of educational subjects. Secondly, it is needed to reduce teachers' administrative load. Thirdly, teachers' co-research systems for “instruction specialists” should be activated. Fourthly, it is necessary to examine the introduction of a new promotion system that can reflect teachers' efforts in teaching and co-research. In addition, it is needed to increase funds for education.
